LGF, slouching towards the Obamanation.

Hey! I'm gonna post something. I just got banned from Little Green Footballs! I used to post there with great frequency right after 9/11. as Dennis P. Sometime, I guess in 2003-4 or so, Charles Johnson instituted a new commenting system that required registration, and I was unable to catch a registration thread until 2005. I posted perhaps a half dozen times under the name "dpatt@n" (the @ is a munged "e")

I've never really posted with the frequency that I did 8 or 9 years ago, but I've always read the page. After reading several comment threads criticizing Glenn Beck (whom I dislike) for having the audacity to call Obama a racist and freaking out about the Arizona gun owners who had the temerity to exercise their right to Free Speech, Assembly and Bearing Arms. I lasted exactly 5 minutes before being banned. From 9:27 to 9:32. I never really noticed anyone being happy with the ban-hammer before, but then I haven't posted there in close to 4 years.

In short, I've seen LGF mutate from an anti-idiotarian, anti-jihad site, into an anti-religion, anti-conservatism site that slouches ever closer toward the Authoritarian Left, as evidenced by the horror of both the commenters and Charles Johnson himself at the sight of people exercising their rights in what must seem a horribly pushy way. If you are a statist, that is.

The funniest thing is the insults of some of the ridiculously frequent commenters, like Cato, suggesting that I move out of my parents basement. This of course is from a guy with close to a hundred thousand comments in thousands of LGF posts.

I guess it's true, you can't go back. I'll miss you LGF.
